Transform education through AI Literacy by leveraging the REdDTech Nine Stakeholders-Nine Strategies Framework across Africa to empower all learners to succeed in the AI Age, and ensure a prosperous, equitable, and sustainable future for all.
Enhance AI Literacy by providing REdDTech research based training, policy guidance, professional development, and technological solutions that strengthen educational policy, practice, research, and institutional readiness
AIEd Academy Inc (hereafter referred to as the Academy) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization created by educators and registered in Delaware (USA). The Academy is a digital hub dedicated to AI Literacy and empowering Policymakers, Planners, Administrators, Educators, Library and Information Science Professionals, Young Scholars, Private Sector, Civil Society, and Communities across (Nine Stakeholders) through Responsible Educational Digital Technology (REdDTech) Research, Skilling, Upskilling, Reskilling, Micro-Credentialing, Digital Citizenship Education, Networking and Advocacy, Collaborations and Partnerships at Local, National, Regional, and Global levels, as well Media and Communication (Nine Strategies), which all together constitute the Nine Stakeholders-Nine Strategies Framework (Framework).
Educational Digital Technology (EdDT), popularly described as Artificial Intelligence in Education (AIEd) is transforming education globally by enabling personalized learning, automating administrative tasks, expanding access to quality education, and driving innovation in policy, practice, and research. However, while the Academy advocates for leveraging EdDT, we also recognize that AI, which is one of the components of EdDT, poses serious threats to privacy, equity, education, employment, environment, global peace and security, and the survival of man. What makes us unique is that we do not merely focus on EdDT but go the extra mile to ensure the adoption of Responsible Educational Digital Technology (REdDTech) policies, practices, and research informed by the Nine Stakeholders-Nine Strategies Framework. We enhance AI literacy and integration in policy practice, and research by leverage the affordances of AI while monitoring and mitigating related risks.
Unfortunately, in addition to AI risks, Africa faces a wide range of barriers to the adoption of RDEd, including the lack of effective Governance Frameworks, Human Oversight, Human-In-The-Loop (HITL) systems, Gender inequity, limited Digital Literacy, inadequate Digital Infrastructure, inequitable Digital Access, and low levels of Literacy to mention a few. The Academy, rooted in Africa and in collaborations and partnerships with international scholars, is uniquely positioned to contribute to the resolution of these challenges across the African continent.
Institutionalize the integration of AI literacy and REdDTech in educational policy, practice, and research through:
1. Promotion of AI Literacy by equipping institutions, educators, learners, civil society, private sectors, and communities with the knowledge and skills needed to understand and apply AI responsibly.
2. Advancing Educational Innovation by supporting the development and adoption of responsible AI-powered tools that enhance learning outcomes and operational efficiency.
3. Strengthening capacity by building institutional and workforce capacity through training, certifications, and research partnerships.
4. Fostering equity and inclusion to ensure that AI-enabled education benefits all learners, including the underserved and marginalized populations.
5. Promoting Governance, Human Oversight, Human-In-The-Loop (HITL) systems by encouraging Ethical AI Use, and promoting frameworks and practices that uphold data privacy, transparency, and fairness.
1. Provide high-quality professional development programs for educators and administrators.
2. Develop and disseminate AI curriculum, models, and resources for schools and institutions.
3. Facilitate international collaboration and knowledge exchange on AI in education.
4. Conduct research to evaluate the impact and effectiveness of AI tools in learning environments.
5. Support policy development that guides ethical and equitable AI adoption.
